My Second Chic Report!

This is an on going voice over job where I get to talk about the latest trends and events in New York fashion and designers.  It’s just perfect.

They come out twice a week – check em out!  Go to the Chic Report channel on You Tube or check out Fashion Week Daily’s blog at http://www.fashionweekdaily.com/video/default.sps

Mass Effect 2 Is Almost Here!

Last summer I booked my highest profile voice over job yet….and it was a video game.  I had one actual part, Nara Selephais, and three other ‘incidental’ roles.  All of the parts ended up being super challenging and wicked fun.  The director was so intense to work with.  Ginny McSwain was her name and I’d heard of her several times before of being this great voice over director who does a lot of jobs at Disney.  I was stoked when I found out I’d get to work with her.

Now the trailers are coming out all over the place and I can’t believe the principle cast members!  Check out this trailer to see who I’m in the game with:

One of the ‘incidental’ roles I got to play the madame of an alien whore house – super trashy and smarmy – it was so freakin fun!!!

Tazhae

This is the neighbor kiddo that lives across the hall.  She called me three times today to come over and play Beakiez=)

Tazhae was copying everything that I say while she was playing a game of Beakiez. So I decide to toy with her and say funny things that she has to repeat.  Then you see the camera get planted in front of her when she’s not paying attention. Watch what she does when she figures out she’s being videotaped! Just adorable.

Showing off my MinoHD

It’s rather ironic that the footage sucks so bad while I’m gushing about this awesome camera.  I just noticed over the months while shooting with this thing, people ask me what it is and I tell them…while the camera is still rolling.  Smash it all together and what do you get?  Not much, mostly just a video of me being a douche.

This Class Is Gonna Be A Blast

I’ve been doing voice over work for about 6 years now.  Since I started, the industry has done a 180.  You really don’t need to live in Los Angeles anymore to do it and you can do a lot of work via websites to pay the bills while waiting to book that big campaign via your agent.

After some great encouragement from friends and family I’m going to teach a class in Seattle about this stuff.  An all day workshop that really covers the business side of voice over because that’s what has changed so much in the recent past.

I Edited This Video Too…

No I am not an editor.  But this sure was fun and there will be more – only they’ll have me in them;)

Writin’ Singin’ & Producin’ Hooks

This is a mix tape.  I *think* that means that the beats are someone else’s.  You can show your friends but you cannot attempt to make any money off the song cuz, in actuality, it’s just not yours.

But it was still fun.  It’s weird, I woulda wrote completely different stuff than what these guys wrote but I’ve learned that’s not up to me.  In these little creative expressions no one can interfere with what you do and vice versa.  Just the hook was up to me so I made one and ran with it;)

The Spoonman

I love this guy.  I think the first time I made the connection that he was the dude Sound Garden wrote their song about was when I saw him perform at the Oregon Country Fair.  He was like, “I’m so fucking sick of this show.”   Then he threw his spoons over his shoulder and told us a story about how he only has one testicle.

So, pretty much crazy but, when he can channel his energy into playing those spoons, it is truly a sight to be seen and a sound to be heard.

Wake Surf’s Up!

On Saturday I went over to my awesome Aunt and Uncle’s house on Lake Sammamish in Washington. This lake is so stinking pretty and superior to other lakes in that there are no marinas or gas stations on it.  It’s a 73 degrees warm, clear and calm beautiful lake.

They took me wake surfing on their new boat and it was all kinds of fun!  You surf in the constant wake the boat provides.  You get up with a rope and then, as soon as you find the sweet spot on the wave, you toss the rope back into the boat.

It appears this new sport has taken off as there was an annual competition going on somewhere on the lake while we were having our fun.  Here’s a video of the experience.  First my Aunt Cathy goes, then me, then my Uncle Mike.

P.S. That dog is less than 2 lbs!

P.P.S. Check out how my Uncle horse shoes the rope handle on the knob at 4:24

Singing in the Park – to a car alarm

I haven’t been posting much this summer.  First I traveled, then I had visitors in town and then I replaced my computer, which took a while to migrate and stuff.  Now I’m going back through old footage of stuff I shot with my Mino HD and can’t hold back from posting some of it.

Trey and I went to Griffith Park to relax and play music and this super annoying car alarm kept going off.  Finally we decided to stop fighting it and played a song in the key and time signature of the alarm=)
